Trains, Planes and Teddy Bears

Trains, planes and teddy bears, oh my!

Hi everyone. This is my beary first blog ever. Ever since I was a wee kitten I had an interest in trains. The first train ride I could remember was a steam locomotive in Monterey, Ca. My parents took me to San Francisco. I remembered eating a donut and drinking a carton of milk. No peanuts though. That was before Amtrak. I ride on Amtrak every few years.

Most of the time I fly. I used to enjoy flying until I joined the Navy. If you ever flew on military planes you'll understand why. The planes I were on were functional, meaning they were held together with duct tape. I'm not sure about the duct tape, but the flights were scary. I'll only fly on commercial flights if necessary. I need to pray before the plane takes off. The turbulence unnerves me. My favorite part of the flight is the landing. Please land in one piece.

Back to trains. I love trains so much I have videos of trains of other countries. I'd click into Amtrak websites and look at the train's floorplans. I'm interested in the internal parts of the train. For example the kitchen and how the chefs work in a small area. The dimension of the bedrooms and how the passengers could squeeze into them. I stayed in the economy bedroom once and it was fun. I splurged in the deluxe bedroom and it was really fun. It's not the Orient Express, but I had fun traveling on the train. 2-4-2, 4-4-0. I haven't seen an 8.

I have a small gathering of stuffed animals. I have stuffed sea creatures, some other critters and a few bears. My favorite teddy bear belonged to my mother. It was a gift from my sister. It's the kind of bear that says different phrases when the paws or feet are squeezed. A few times the bear talked without being touched. My brother and I heard it. When I was alone it talked only once. It's sitting on the couch. Very eerie.
